In late 2016, Bruin joined APJ Law after completing his postgraduate studies and professional development with the firm. Bruin completed his undergraduate studies at the University of New England and Postgraduate Studies at the College of Law. During his undergraduate degree, Bruin studied in several jurisdictions including Pennsylvania, USA and in Shanghai, China.

Bruin has established a strong and robust practice in commercial litigation, including building and construction, contract, infrastructure and employment disputes. Bruin has experience in most jurisdictions including the Federal Court, Land and Environment Court, Supreme Court of NSW and the NSW Court of Appeal.

A focus on a pragmatic solutions and tailored approach to dispute resolution has seen Bruin achieve commercial outcomes for clients carefully balanced against litigation risk.

Outside of APJ, Bruin is a keen trail and ultramarathon runner; is a member of several boards and currently sits as the chair of the New England Rugby Union Judiciary and is a member of the Appeals Panel for NSW Country Rugby.
